The Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors (PALSCON) continuously works with the Philippine department of Labour and Employment (DoLE) to offer decent job opportunities for jobseekers. As part of this collaboration, PALSCON and DoLE launched in 2018 a national Job Fair Caravan reaching out to workers across the country. The Job Fair Caravan includes training and human resource development activities, and it creates training modules and information campaigns related to workers' welfare, enhancement and growth. As part of the program, PALSCON and DoLE also exchange labour market information to support employability and participation.
The challenge
While trying to further improve local employment situation across the Philippines, the Labour Department struggled in reaching jobseekers nationwide and ensuring access to labour market information.
Solution
In 2018, the Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors (PALSCON) launched the 'Job Fair Caravan' together with the Department of Labour and Employment (DoLE) in order to bring decent employment opportunities to Filipino jobseekers, as well as to facilitate employers' search for qualified manpower.
PALSCON provides training and human resource development activities and create training modules and information campaigns relative to the workers' welfare, enhancement and growth.
The government contributes to the program through technical support and guidance, monitoring of the implementation of the program and provision of data and information relative to the government's employment initiatives.
